This window was be fitted into an inclined roof, requiring angled horizontal rabbets. The square vertical rabbets are formed by attaching a separate piece of molding (glued on, with central plywood spline for reinforcement). The frame features mortise-and-tenon joints with panel groove. The window pane is secured with molding on both sides (glued-on on one side and nailed on the other, to facilitate glass removal if needed).

The window was to be removable to facilitate access onto the roof. Three sliding latches hold the window in position. The slider handle was turned on a lathe and wedge-tenoned into the slider body. Vertical slats with sliding dovetail joints secure the slider to the latch body.
